Elizabeth's Corner Shoppe
Are you looking for a fun and unusual gift for your grandchild, a present for a friend,or something new for yourself? Stop by the Reddick mansion's newest addition, Elizabeth's Corner Shoppe, for some great ideas!
Hedy Bernholdt, shop manager and Mansion volunteer, has worked very hard to acquire a unique collection of items, while maintaining the goal of the shop: "to enhance the historic significance of the Mansion by offering current remembrances and replica products of the past". She has a lovely collection of ladies' fans, old-fashioned children's toys, and handmade crockery. The crockery is perfect for either kitchen utensils, or a plant. The focus is a garden theme. You can also buy Confederate currency, reproductions, cotton bonnets, and Reddick Mansion note cards.
The shop, located in the lower level of the Mansion, is named after the Reddicks' adopted daughter, Elizabeth. Also featured is a collection of mid 19th century clothing for children to try on - full-length pinafores and prairie dresses for girls and britches and straw hats for boys.
The shop is open on days during scheduled mansion tours, i.e. Wed thru Mon, 11-3:00 pm (closed on Tuesday).
